From now on, Android users prerelease versions of Google‘s browser Chrome test. Together with the final 24 for Chrome desktop the Internet company yesterday for the first time a beta of Chrome 25 for Android 4.x provided. Until now, smartphone and tablet users only the stable version 18 of the mobile browser available.
Google will now deliver desktops as every six weeks for an updated version of its Chrome browser for Android. The first beta brings a number of new features that the manufacturer has, in a blog entry , but specifically to the still weak performance and other issues.
New features include the Technology “ text autosizing ”text formatting, which will improve the readability of desktop sites on mobile devices. It is based partly on Mozilla font inflation , but still not working properly.
Even the HTML5 support and JavaScript performance has been improved. Sun Chrome uses 25 a new version of Google‘s V8 JavaScript engine as the current stable release.
Developers also benefit from some new features . These include CSS filter for visual effects, image, dynamic viewport units for better handling of video and pixel size, IndexedDB for storing offline data and Flexbox layout options for customizable formatting.
The beta of Chrome for Android can only have a direct link to download from Google Play. The search for “Chrome Beta” in the Play Store does not provide the desired result. The preview version can be parallel to the stable release, install and use.
